Lane Kiffin is already off to LSU but he’s reportedly allowing 4 more of his new assistants to return to Ole Miss for the College Football Playoff.

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, tight ends coach Joe Cox, wide receivers coach George McDonald, assistant quarterbacks coach Dane Stevens, and slot wide receivers coach Sawyer Jordan arrived back in Oxford on Monday morning. They join Charlie Weis Jr., who already returned after making the initial trip to Baton Rouge.

Lane Kiffin made the decision to allow the coaches to return in an effort to help new Ole Miss coach Pete Golding, the staff and players maximize the opportunity ahead in the CFP,” Thamel added.

Ole Miss hosts Tulane on Dec. 20 in a first-round CFP matchup. This is the first CFP game for both teams. It’ll be a rematch as Ole Miss defeated Tulane 45-10 in Week 4 behind 419 yards from scrimmage from quarterback Trinidad Chambliss (307 passing, 112 rushing).

Weis has guided Ole Miss into being ranked No. 11 nationally in points per game (37.3). The Rebels had 4 games this season with at least 40 points and never scored below 24 points.

Ole Miss vs. Tulane is set for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff and will be broadcast on TNT/HBO Max, and truTV.
