Georgia lost a commitment for its 2018 class on Monday night.
Caleb Tannor, a highly-touted, 4-star defensive end, posted on Twitter that he had decided to open up his recruitment.
Tannor, who is 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds, is listed as the nation’s No. 17 player at his position, according to the 247Sports Composite.
This is the first major recruiting blow for Georgia, which seemed to have a ton of momentum on the recruiting front in recent weeks before this in-state prospect (Miller Grove High School, Lithonia, Ga.) decided to look elsewhere.
The ‘Dawgs were humbled by Auburn 40-17 on Saturday.
Tannor has an offer from Auburn and has visited the Tigers’ campus a couple of times. He also holds offers from Alabama, Florida, LSU and Tennessee, among others.
Georgia still had the SEC’s top class (No. 5 nationally) at the time of this post.
