4-star DE Stephon Wynn commits to Alabama over Georgia, South Carolina

Four-star DE Stephon Wynn’s home state is South Carolina, but it was “Sweet Home Alabama” playing at his commitment ceremony on Saturday.

The Anderson, S.C. product announced that he’s taking his talents to Tuscaloosa during a ceremony streamed live on Facebook. He confirmed the announcement with a note posted on his Twitter account.

Wynn, who measures 6-foot-4, 285 pounds with a 4.90 40-yard dash time, is ranked the No. 5 strong-side defensive end, No. 23 South Carolina prospect and No. 104 overall recruit. The IMG Academy product has 27 offers and had included Georgia and South Carolina in his final three.

Alabama now has six commitments in its 2018 class. Assistants Tosh Lupoi and Karl Dunbar led the effort to land Wynn, whose highlights can be viewed below:
