A 4-star Florida wide receiver has backed off his verbal commitment to the Gators.

Chandler “CJ” Smith announced his decommitment from UF on Tuesday night. He visited Tennessee this past weekend.

The Orlando native thanked the previous Florida coaching staff in his decommitment note. Smith is listed at 6-1, 180 pounds and rated 4-stars, the No. 27 Sunshine State recruit, No. 32 wide receiver and No. 220 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2022 on the 247Sports Composite.

Smith’s future team is getting a speedster. 247Sports notes Smith is a decorated track athlete, having won state titles in the 100 and 200-meter dashes as a junior “while anchoring a 4×100 team that took second at the 2A state track meet.”
