One of the top recruits in North Carolina has a strong interest in heading further south to play for an SEC program.
Rocky Mount defensive end Keeshawn Silver revealed his top seven schools on Saturday. Florida, Georgia, Auburn, LSU and Alabama are the five conference programs along with North Carolina and Oregon. Silver revealed the teams by tweeting a graphic with seven logos:
Listed at 6-5, 236 pounds, Silver is rated the No. 5 North Carolina product, No. 8 strong-side defensive end and No. 107 prospect nationally in the 2021 class on the 247Sports Composite. He already has 33 scholarship offers.
Charles Power of 247Sports projects Silver could develop into an early-round NFL Draft selection.
Has a large frame and stature. Began his career as a basketball player and has continued to add mass throughout his high school career. Has tested as a strong athlete entering his junior season. Is a bouncy, twitchy mover which transfers over to the field. Has advanced movement skills as he’s able to dip around the edge and chase down ball carriers in pursuit. Physical and strong at the point of attack on defense and as a blocking tight end on the offensive side. Uses his length to disrupt passing lanes. Raw as a pass rusher and will need to continue progressing from a technical standpoint on that front. Projects as a multi-year starter at the Power Five level with the upside of developing into an early round NFL Draft pick.
