4-star OG/DT Tedarrell Slaton picks Florida over Georgia

American Heritage (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) DT/OG Tedarrell Slaton had it down to two SEC East teams, and the lineman is staying in the Sunshine State.

Slaton announced he will be attending Florida during a school-wide Signing Day ceremony. He had narrowed down his choices down to the Gators and Georgia.

With UF’s needs on the defensive line, many expect the Gators to use the 6-foot-4, 360-pounder at defensive tackle, although the 247Sports Composite rates him the No. 3 offensive guard, and No. 12 Florida prospect, making him the Gators’ highest-rated commit.

Florida now has 19 pledges for a class ranked No. 19 nationally and No. 7 in the SEC.
