There are many uncommitted prospects at The Opening this year and one potential SEC commitment on tap as four-star tight end Tre’ McKitty will decide between Auburn, Florida, FSU and Oregon over the weekend.

Here are five uncommitted prospects you want to keep an eye on this weekend and track their recruitments over the next few months:

Trey Smith

Position: Offensive tackle

Size: 6-5, 300

From: Jackson City, Tenn.

SEC schools in play: Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss and Tennessee.

Skinny: Smith is expected to name a top list of schools by the end of The Opening. That list could be anywhere from five to eight schools. How bad does Tennessee want him? The Volunteers held an elite lineman camp at his high school in June.

Smith has unofficially visited Ole Miss twice so keep an eye on the Rebels. Notre Dame is the non-SEC program that appears to be the biggest threat right now.

Dylan Moses

Position: Linebacker/ATH

Size: 6-2, 225

From: Bradenton, Fla. (by way of New Iberia, La.)

SEC schools in play: Alabama, LSU.

Skinny: Moses has already said he’ll take his five official visits to Alabama, Texas, Ohio State, UCLA and Miami. LSU, his hometown school, will get an unofficial visit.

Expect commits from LSU, Alabama and Ohio State to be working Moses a lot at The Opening.

DeAngelo Gibbs

Position: Cornerback

Size: 6-2, 200

From: Loganville, Ga.

SEC schools in play: Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn, Florida.

Skinny: Early it looked like a Georgia-Tennessee battle, but Gibbs isn’t making an announcement until the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January, so things can and will likely change.

Georgia seems to have the edge as Gibbs talks about the potential of playing with Bulldog commits William Poole III and Richard LeCounte III. Both are at the Opening and you better believe that will try to occupy most of Gibbs’ free time.

Gibbs will go to Florida for their Friday Night Lights showcase at the end of the month.

Jerry Jeudy

Position: Wide receiver

Size: 6-1, 180

From: Deerfield Beach, Fla.

SEC schools in play: Alabama, Georgia, Florida.

Skinny: Florida is working hard to make this an Alabama-Florida battle down the stretch. The Tide has a need at wide receiver and appeared to have the lead for Jeudy but there is much to be determined.

Alabama will push to get a verbal before August but Florida likely will battle for this prospect until he signs.

Cam Akers

Position: Running back

Size: 5-11, 210

From: Clinton, Miss.

SEC schools in play: Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee.

Skinny: Akers arrived at The Opening wearing an Ohio State hat and many feel like the Buckeyes are going to steal another prospect out of SEC territory, but there’s much to be determined before he makes a decision at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Akers, however, could throw a wrench in those plans and announce sooner.

The SEC programs fighting with the Buckeyes for Akers are likely hoping he waits.
