The annual All-American Bowl took place in San Antonio on Saturday, as the West defeated the East 33-20 in a game littered with future college football stars headed to programs across the country.
Several of the players that participated are headed to SEC schools, and a few had stellar performances in their final game at the high school level, as noted by the recruiting analysts at 247Sports.
Defensive end Will Anderson stuck out for the East, as the Alabama commit gathered three tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble. The Hampton, Georgia native is listed as the No. 5 weak-side defensive end per the 247Sports Composite. The site’s analysts wrote, “Few players upped their stock this week like the Alabama signee.”
A few more SEC pledges made an impact for the West, as another Alabama commitment in quarterback Bryce Young was excellent in limited action, going 6 of 9 passing for 164 yards and two touchdowns. Alabama lured Young all the way from California, coming into Tuscaloosa as the top-ranked dual-threat quarterback in the country.
Two future LSU Tigers were in the mix as cornerback Dwight McGlothern and defensive tackle Jacobian Guillory each had nice performances.
McGlothern, a four-star prospect from Texas, picked up two interceptions including a 38-yard pick six thrown by Cincinnati commit Evan Prater. Guillory, another four-star, clogged up the running lanes in the middle of the West’s defensive line all night on the way to victory.
Texas A&M linebacker commit Antonio Doyle impressed as well, as the Missouri native had a game-high 11 tackles.
