The SEC only had one quarterback — Danny Etling — selected in the 2018 NFL Draft, and even that was a bit of a surprise.
However, this fall, the quarterback position has plenty of dynamic players throughout the conference, and a couple could end up being first-round picks.
This week, NFL.com named five SEC quarterbacks among the nation’s best, starting with Mizzou’s Drew Lock:
- Drew Lock, Mizzou
- Jarrett Stidham, Auburn
- Nick Fitzgerald, Mississippi State
- Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama
- Jake Fromm, Georgia
Lock and Stidham are in the “main attractions” section, with Fitzgerald falling under the “firmly on the radar” category. Fromm and Tagovailoa are in the “youngsters” section.
All five players should have exciting seasons, and that means the SEC offenses could be even more dynamic in 2018.
