Georgia fans expecting to get a freak of nature in Nolan Smith appear to be getting just that as the five-star Bulldog pledge has won the Nike Football Rating Championship at The Opening Finals.

The Peach State native, who decided to finish his prep career at IMG Academy in Florida, committed to Georgia all the way back in January of 2017. He looks to be the next big thing in Kirby Smart’s defense once he arrives in Athens and has been that way since he committed as a sophomore. While many young coveted prospects have proven to flame out before they even reach the college ranks, Smith is trending in the opposite direction, seemingly improving each and every offseason.

The nation’s No. 2 overall prospect in the 2019 recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings, Smith registered a score of 141.75 in the Nike Football Rating Championship during his appearance at The Opening Finals in Arlington over the weekend. That score bested every other prospect at AT&T Stadium, which is really saying something considering nearly every prospect on the field is either a four or five-star prospect.

The rating comes after each prospect is measured in four categories: 40-yard dash, vertical jump, 5-10-5 shuttle and Kneeling power ball toss. Depending on a player’s size, those results are calculated to give a SPARQ number, which Smith registered as a 141.75 over the weekend.

Check out his highlights to get an idea of how well he potentially fits into the UGA defense:
