With Week 6 of the 2018 college football season in the books, a few select teams are now 6-0. Getting to win No. 6 has given these teams bowl eligibility: Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Clemson, Notre Dame and Cincinnati.
The first five are quite obvious. If you’re following the 2018 season, you’re almost certainly aware that those five teams – ranked in the top six of the Week 6 Associated Press Top 25 – are undefeated. All five of those teams are looking to play in more than just a bowl game. They want to make the College Football Playoff semifinals. Those rankings will officially start at the end of the month.
And then there’s Cincinnati. The Bearcats are unranked (though that will likely change when the new AP poll is released) and advanced to 6-0 Saturday, beating Tulane 37-21. Not surprisingly, Cincinnati’s schedule is… unimpressive to say the least as it consisted of UCLA, Miami-Ohio, Alabama A&M, Ohio and UConn in the first five weeks. One potential Cincinnati game of interest will be when the Bearcats take on UCF (currently 5-0) on Nov. 17.
