SEC lands 6 on Sports Illustrated First-Team preseason All-American list

Sports Illustrated unveiled its preseason All-America team on Wednesday, and the SEC East is nowhere to be found.

Alabama and LSU join Oklahoma, Florida State and Ohio State as the only teams with multiple first-team selections. Auburn and Texas A&M each had one specialist named to the first team.

Here are the SEC players named to SI’s 2017 Preseason All-America Team:

Offense:

  • LSU RB Derrius Guice
  • Alabama WR Calvin Ridley
  • Arkansas C Frank Ragnow (2nd team)

Defense:

  • LSU LB Arden Key
  • Alabama S Minkah Fitzpatrick
  • Texas A&M S Armani Watts (2nd)

Specialists:

  • Auburn K Daniel Carlson
  • Texas A&M RS Christian Kirk
  • Ole Miss K Gary Wunderlich (2nd)
  • Alabama P J.K. Scott (2nd)
