6 SEC players included on Naismith Award preseason watch list

The 2020-21 college basketball season starts in less than a week, and a number of the nation’s top players will be on display in the SEC.
On Thursday, the Naismith Trophy preseason watch list was revealed, and 6 SEC players were among the 50 players named.
The 6 SEC players who are on the watch list for the Naismith Player of the Year award are:
- BJ Boston, Kentucky
- Terrence Clarke, Kentucky
- Keyontae Johnson, Florida
- Yves Pons, Tennessee
- Javonte Smart, LSU
- Trendon Watford, LSU
That’s 2 players each for Kentucky and LSU, with Florida and Tennessee each placing 1 on the watch list.
A couple of intriguing names were left off the list, including Alabama’s John Petty and Tennessee’s John Fulkerson.
