The 2020 college baseball season was canceled amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which means we didn’t get a chance to see the SEC’s biggest baseball stars in action this spring.

However, the 2020 MLB Draft will still go on, and that means a few SEC stars will likely hear their names called in Round 1 on June 10 (Wednesday).

This past week, MLB.com analyst Jonathan Mayo released an updated Round 1 mock draft, and as you can see below, 7 SEC players are expected to go in the first 29 picks (the Houston Astros don’t have a first-round pick):

  • No. 2 — Austin Martin, 3B/OF, Vanderbilt — Baltimore Orioles
  • No. 3 — Asa Lacey, LHP, Texas A&M — Miami Marlins
  • No. 6 — Emerson Hancock, RHP, Georgia — Seattle Mariners
  • No. 7 — Heston Kjerstad, OF, Arkansas — Pittsburgh Pirates
  • No. 14 — Garrett Crochet, LHP, Tennessee — Texas Rangers
  • No. 20 — Cole Wilcox, RHP, Georgia — Milwaukee Brewers
  • No. 27 — Justin Foscue, 2B, Mississippi State — Minnesota Twins

Is that how Round 1 will play out? Tune in on Wednesday to find out!
