It’s become tradition to see the SEC dominate the NFL Draft.

So it’s no surprise to see eight SEC alumni on The Big Lead’s list of the top 25 NFL players under the age of 25.  The former SEC standouts who made the list are:

  • No. 6 – Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (Georgia)
  • No. 7 – Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (Mississippi State)
  • No. 8 – New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara (Tennessee)
  • No. 10 – Tampa Bay WR Mike Evans (Texas A&M)
  • No. 14 – New York Giants S Landon Collins (Alabama)
  • No. 17 – Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (LSU)
  • No. 18 – New York Jets S Jamal Adams (LSU)
  • No. 19 – Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett (Texas A&M)
  • Just missed: Atlanta Falcons LB Deion Jones (LSU)
  • Just missed: Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper (Alabama)
  • Just missed: Los Angeles Chargers TE Hunter Henry (Arkansas)

That list shows that a variety of SEC schools are producing top NFL talent. While Cooper and Henry got honorable mentions, there are certain to be some fans who feel a recent draftee from their favorite school got snubbed. For anyone wondering, the article clarifies that Odell Beckham (LSU) and Jadeveon Clowney (South Carolina) are 25 and do not qualify for an “under 25” list.
