A college football team has been living in a Las Vegas hotel for over a month

It has been a long, crazy year for college football teams all across the country as we continue to navigate our way through the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, the New Mexico Lobos football team has had an even stranger season than any other football program.
During Saturday night’s 17-16 win over Wyoming, which saw the Lobos improve to 1-5 on the season, the CBS Sports broadcast noted that the Lobos are living in a Las Vegas hotel 576 miles from home:

They’re eating their meals and working out in an abandoned casino, which has to be difficult and could help explain their 0-5 record prior to Saturday night’s win.
Strict COVID-19 protocols in New Mexico led to the team’s relocation. Saturday night was only their second “home” game in Las Vegas of the season.
