Sam Pittman is looking for a new defensive coordinator after Barry Odom left Arkansas to take the UNLV head coaching job. The Razorbacks could be looking to bring on the coordinator of one of the top defenses in the AAC.

College football insider Bruce Feldman reports that Chris Hampton of Tulane has emerged as a candidate for the Arkansas position. Hampton’s Green Wave unit was in the top 15 nationally and one of the AAC’s best units, helping Tulane to an 11-2 record, conference title and Cotton Bowl berth.

Reports indicated that Arkansas initially targeted Ron Roberts, the former Baylor defensive coordinator. Roberts was hired to Hugh Freeze’s Auburn staff.
