Former Illinois standout and Super Bowl champion Aaron Moorehead has been hired as Texas A&M’s new wide receivers coach, coming over from Virginia Tech following a two-year stint in Blacksburg, Va. An announcement by coach Kevin Sumlin is expected Sunday afternoon:

According to his bio, Moorehead spent five seasons (2003-07) in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts, including an appearance in Super Bowl XLI when the Peyton Manning-led Colts beat the Chicago Bears.
He served as a grad assistant in 2009 at New Mexico before spending three seasons at Stanford as an offensive assistant working with wide receivers.
Moorehead inherits a group made up of tons of returning talent including Josh Reynolds and Speedy Noil.
