This is the first year of Disney’s landmark contract with the SEC, and things seem to be off to a very good start. Both of those Saturday matchups featured top-15 teams that are firmly in the mix for an SEC title game berth. It also likely helped that it was a relatively quiet day in the Big Ten with Ohio State and Big Ten both idle.
In the afternoon window, Alabama-Tennessee drew 10.7 million viewers in what was one of the most entertaining games of the young season so far. Tennessee came back from 7-point halftime deficit to defeat the Crimson Tide 24-17.
In the nightcap, an impressive 12.9 million people tuned in to watch Georgia dismantle Texas. The Bulldogs held a significant halftime lead before the Longhorns fought back to make it a 30-15 deficit in the end. Georgia and Texas now each have 1 SEC loss so far this season.
