Admiral Schofield clarifies tweet some believed was a shot at Rick Barnes
Some Tennessee fans were left scratching their heads on Sunday night as Admiral Schofield sent out a tweet that was pretty uncharacteristic from the senior forward. Many took his initial comment as a shot at head coach Rick Barnes.
In the end, however, that’s not at all what Schofield was attempting to convey.
If you missed the initial tweet on Sunday evening, Schofield posted a comment in response to a video clip of Gregg Popovich going off on an NBA referee.
Check it out below:

It’s understandable why some would read Schofield’s comments as a commentary on Barnes but for anyone that jumped to that conclusion, the star Tennessee forward ended that debate with a follow-up on Monday morning.
According to Schofield, he was commenting on the fact that Popovich was permitted to act insane on the court without repercussion — something he believes Barnes was never permitted to do this season for the Vols.
My tweet is not a shot at Coach Barnes, but at how other coaches are allowed to act this way in games and my Coach Can’t. #GBO pic.twitter.com/CJdmEMCGCD

Hopefully, this puts the drama surrounding Schofield’s original comment to bed.
