Kentucky got a big win Saturday at No. 18 Tennessee, thumping the Volunteers 34-7. It was UK’s first win in Knoxville since 1984. As coach Mark Stoops reminded his troops after the game, the Wildcats were playing for something bigger than themselves.

The Cats played “Schlarman Strong” for Kentucky offensive line coach John Schlarman, who is battling liver cancer. Last week, UK played “22 Oats Strong” for linebacker Chris Oats, sidelined this season with an undisclosed illness. Stoops delivered Oats the game ball after Kentucky’s win over Mississippi State. This week, fittingly, Schlarman received the game ball in the locker room at Neyland Stadium.
