For the second time this year, former Tennessee guard Jalen Johnson has announced his transfer destination.
On April 10, Johnson pledged to East Tennessee State after entering the transfer portal. He clearly intended to play for Steve Forbes. On April 30, news broke that Wake Forest athletic director John Currie had hired Forbes as the new head coach of the Demon Deacons. Now, Johnson is following Forbes to Wake Forest. He made the announcement Monday via his Twitter account.
Johnson appeared in all 31 games for Tennessee last season and made two starts as a junior guard. He averaged 3.5 points, 2 rebounds and 15.7 minutes per game in the 2019-20 campaign. In conference play, he contributed 4.2 points per game. He will join Wake Forest as a graduate transfer.
Following his time at Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point, North Carolina, Johnson signed with Tennessee in the 2016 recruiting cycle. He redshirted his first season at UT.
