After a season in the AAF, Cameron Nizialek is heading to an NFL training camp.
The Baltimore Ravens announced the signing of Nizialek on Saturday morning. The announcement refers to Nizialek as a kicker, despite the fact that he only punted with Georgia in 2017 and with the AAF’s Atlanta Legends this year. Nizialek was both a kicker and punter at Columbia, where he began his college career. The Ravens were looking for another leg in practice after trading Kaare Vedvik to the Minnesota Vikings. Clifton Brown of BaltimoreRavens.com writes that Nizialek is being added to the 90-man roster to decrease the practice load on kickers Justin Tucker and Sam Koch. It’s still an opportunity for Nizialek to show off his skillset for NFL coaches.
Nizialek averaged 45 yards per punt on 61 punts in 2017 at Georgia. His average yards per punt went up to 47.4 yards (34 punts) in his season with the Legends.
We have signed K Cameron Nizialek.
