Chance Warmack is returning to the NFL.
The former Alabama offensive lineman, who last played with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018, has signed a new deal with the Seattle Seahawks, according to agent Ron Slavin. Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network describes Warmack’s time away as “taking a year to get healthy.”
Warmack was at Alabama for the Crimson Tide’s incredible run of three BCS championships in four seasons (2009, ’11, ’12). As a junior in 2011, Warmack earned second-team All-SEC recognition. He opted to stay for his senior year and earned first-team All-SEC and Unanimous All-American recognition in UA’s national championship season.
Warmack’s NFL career began with the Tennessee Titans, who selected him No. 10 overall in the 2013 NFL Draft. He played for the Titans until 2016, a season when he missed time due to a hand injury. Warmack then signed a one-year deal with Philadelphia Eagles ahead of the 2017 season and then a one-year extension during the season, which ended with the team defeating the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. Warmack played in nine games for the Eagles in 2018 but did not start. In his career, Warmack has played in 68 total games, starting 51.
