Ahead of trip to Texas A&M, Bo Nix says Auburn’s win in Dallas helped prepare him for road games

Bo Nix has Auburn sitting undefeated through the first three games of the 2019 season. The Tigers true freshman quarterback is about to face his most difficult test yet. In Week 4, Nix and company are heading to College Station to take on No. 17 Texas A&M. The more important number when facing the Aggies, however, is 12.

Fanbases everywhere like to claim a 12th man effect when the opposing offense is on the field, but the Aggies claim the Kyle Field crowd as the 12th Man of college football. Nix thinks it helps that he has a victory away from home already under his belt.

“I think that was key, just having a home game and an away game, now I can just settle in and play football,” Nix said in a new ESPNU Radio interview.

While it helps that Nix has played well outside the comforts of his home field, it goes without saying that a true road game at Texas A&M is going to be a much more hostile environment than a neutral-site meeting against Oregon in Dallas.

More from Nix, including what it’s like playing for “perfectionist” head coach and play-caller Gus Malzahn, can be heard in the clip below.
