The firing and subsequent arrest of former Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore sent shockwaves through the college football landscape and added even more fuel to what’s been the craziest coaching carousel in recent memory.

It also once again brought Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer into focus for yet another Big Ten coaching search, with many analysts reporting that the Wolverines could end up targeting the current head man for the Tide to fill their now vacant head coaching slot.

Former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron was asked about DeBoer being linked to the opening in Ann Arbor on CBS Sports HQ, and the 2-time National Title winner said he does not think DeBoer should consider making the move up north.

“I don’t buy into the Michigan deal,” McCarron said. “I don’t understand, and it’s not a knock on Michigan, but you’re the No. 1 seed in the SEC. You’re the biggest brand in the SEC. The SEC is the best conference in college football on a year-in and year-out basis. I don’t know if you could say the same thing for Michigan right now, being in the Big 10.”

DeBoer is obviously in the middle of preparing his team to play Oklahoma next week in the first round of the College Football Playoff, but the speculation about whether or not he will leave Tuscaloosa is unlikely to fade any time soon.
