AJ McCarron is turning into a bona fide star in the XFL and the former Alabama quarterback delivered another incredible finish to lift St. Louis to another victory.
McCarron led a comeback drive with 1:16 remaining to setup a game-winning 44-yard field goal as St. Louis is now 2-0 with both wins coming in comeback fashion.
He told his sons to never give up.
“Ever since I came out of college, I’ve been counted out a little bit,” he said after the game on ESPN. “It’s just fun to come out here and play. I’ve missed playing. Not always just being a backup and that’s a great living, it really is and I absolutely love it, but I love playing. This is special and I can’t thank the XFL enough, it’s been awesome.”
