A’ja Wilson is the WNBA’s MVP for the 2024 season.

Wilson was officially named MVP on Sunday morning. The Las Vegas Aces star won it in unanimous fashion after averaging 26.9 points and 11.9 rebounds per game this season.

Here’s the moment that Wilson learned she won the award:

The former South Carolina star is just the second player ever to win the award unanimously, joining Cynthia Cooper-Dyke (1997). This is Wilson’s third MVP award. She also took home the honor in 2020 and 2022.

Three MVPs is more than any other active player. This award breaks a tie with former UConn legend Breanna Stewart, who won MVP honors in 2023 and 2019. She’s also just the 4th player ever to win 3 MVPs in a career, joining Lisa Leslie, Sheryl Swoopes and Lauren Jackson.

Wilson is also the first player in WNBA history to lead the league in total points, rebounds and blocks in the same campaign.

The Aces will begin their postseason run on Sunday night as they host the Seattle Storm in Game 1.
