Alabama 2021 DE backs off commitment to Ole Miss, names new top 6 including Rebels

Less than two months after committing to Ole Miss, a defensive end out of Alabama is backing off his pledge to Lane Kiffin’s program – at least for the time being.

On Wednesday, Parker standout Demarcus Smith shared via Twitter that he was decommitting from Ole Miss because he felt he made his pledge too early in the process. He shared that Ole Miss is still one of his top six schools along with Kansas, Mississippi State, Nebraska, South Carolina and Tennessee.

A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Smith is rated 3-stars, the No. 24 recruit in Alabama, No. 46 strong-side defensive end and No. 675 prospect overall nationally on the 247Sports Composite. He committed to Ole Miss on Aug. 21.
