Alabama AD Greg Byrne previews new Bryant-Denny Stadium lights ahead of Saturday night’s Tennessee game

Since August, Alabama fans have been eager to see the new lights installed at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Finally, in Week 8, Crimson Tide fans will get to see the lights in action.
Alabama was finally given a night kickoff at home for Saturday’s Tennessee game. The 8 p.m. local kickoff will allow UA to show off the new LED lights. Alabama AD Greg Byrne shared a brief preview on Tuesday via his Twitter account.

As noted by AL.com’s Michael Casagrande, the Bryant-Denny Stadium lights will look similar to the lights at Georgia’s home field, Sanford Stadium. UGA was able to show off its new lights in September when the Bulldogs hosted Notre Dame in a game shown on CBS in Saturday night primetime. The lights in Athens and Tuscaloosa were installed by rival companies, so they’re not exactly the same, but definitely similar.
Fans in attendance can expect to see the lights change colors and be synced to music during certain moments on Saturday night. Those watching Saturday’s game on ESPN should also notice a brighter presentation of the game, which will look more “high definition,” per Casagrade’s article.
