Alabama adds to impressive 2025 class with 4-star edge out of Florida

Alabama football’s No. 1 2025 recruiting class just became even better.
Nick Saban and the Tide landed a commitment just before midnight Friday from 4-star edge rusher Javion Hilson, a top-50 prospect in the 2025 cycle. Hilson is rated as a 4-star according to 247Sports and is considered to be the No. 4 edge in the country and the No. 8 player out of Florida.
Hilson stands at 6-3, 225 pounds and hails from Cocoa, Florida. He had 36 tackles with 9.5 sacks and a pair of forced fumbles in 2022 for Cocoa HS.

Although Hilson is rated as the No. 47 overall prospect 2025 cycle, he’s the 5th highest-rated prospect currently committed to Alabama’s class. He’s the 2nd highest-rated defensive prospect, just behind 4-star edge Zion Grady.
