Alabama analyst Alex Mortensen will be the new offensive coordinator at UAB under Trent Dilfer, according to an AL.com report. Dilfer was introduced as the new head coach of the Blazers on Wednesday.

After coaching wide receivers for the Alliance of American Football’s Birmingham Iron during the 2019 season that was not finished, Mortensen returned to Alabama as an analyst that year. He has held the analyst title for UA’s last 4 seasons.
Mortensen, 37, is the son of ESPN NFL reporter Chris Mortensen. He played college football at Arkansas and Samford.
Mortensen also has coaching experience with New Mexico Highlands of Division II (2012-13) and the St. Louis Rams (2013).
