In the ever-changing current landscape of college football, programs across the country are doing everything they can to secure a greater financial edge over their rivals on the field. For some teams, this means agreeing to have on-field ads displayed during games, and the Alabama Crimson Tide will be the next big-name team to use this tactic starting in 2025.
According to an official release from the University of Alabama Athletic Department, the school has partnered with the U.S. Navy to “Build Maritime Workforce Through ‘Build Giants Alabama’ Initiative.”
The deal will mean that Bama fans will see the “Build Giants Alabama” logo on the field at Bryant-Denny Stadium starting this season along with “in-venue messaging” that will feature former legendary head coach Nick Saban.
Partnering with the U.S. Navy’s Maritime Industrial Base (MIB) Program creates a unique and impactful opportunity to support our state and our nation,” Alabama AD Greg Byrne said in the official press release. “We’re proud to team up with and shine a spotlight on the Build Giants Alabama initiative as it assembles its workforce in this vital industry for current and future generations.
The state of Alabama boasts a long history of Naval shipbuilding, and now this tradition will be proudly displayed on one of the most iconic fields in all of college football.
