Tua Tagovailoa is going to be the starter for the Alabama Crimson Tide this season, but the depth chart is pretty open behind him.

Mac Jones figures to have the lead in the race for the No. 2 spot, with freshmen Taulia Tagovailoa and Paul Tyson vying for position on the depth chart, too.

With so much depth at the position, backup Layne Hatcher has decided to explore transfer options. Per Matt Zenitz of AL.com, Hatcher has entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal:

Hatcher was a 3-star dual-threat quarterback in the 2018 class. He was the No. 53 dual-threat quarterback in the 2018 class and the No. 24 overall recruit from the state of Arkansas, per the 247Sports composite.

Hatcher redshirted during the 2018 season.
