Last season, Wague played in 28 games for the Mountaineers mostly in a reserve role. He averaged 4.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per contest in just 10.6 minutes per night.
Listed at 6-foot-10, Wague brings length, defensive versatility and production to Alabama’s front court for next season. The Crimson Tide are looking to replace multiple front court players, including the recently-drafted Brandon Miller and Noah Clowney.
Wague played at Harcum College in Pennsylvania prior to transferring to West Virginia. He has 2 years of eligibility remaining.
Wague is the 4th transfer to commit to Alabama in the class of 2023. He joins Grant Nelson (North Dakota State), Latrell Wrightsell Jr. (Cal State Fullerton) and Aaron Estrada (Hofstra).
The Crimson Tide have also brought in a group of 4 blue-chip prospects from the high school ranks in this cycle. Overall, Alabama’s incoming talent ranks No. 12 in the country according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
