Alabama CB, former 4-star recruit, announces he has entered transfer portal

Alabama cornerback Marcus Banks, a former 4-star recruit that joined the Crimson Tide in 2019, has announced that he has entered the transfer portal. Banks, who will have 2 remaining years of eligibility, posted the news on his Twitter account on Monday evening.
Banks played in 7 games as a freshman in 2019 after signing as the No. 13 recruit in his class out of Dekaney High School in Houston, with Florida and Texas A&M as his other finalists. In 2020, he played in 9 games, mostly on special teams, as he recorded a pair of tackles.
This season, he saw time in 8 games and received his first collegiate start against Mercer, totaling 4 tackles and 0.5 tackles for a loss. He also recorded an interception in that one. Banks recorded a tackle against both Mississippi State and LSU as well.
The Crimson Tide host New Mexico State on Saturday.
