Alabama closing in on Liberty assistant for linebackers coach vacancy, per report

Alabama is expected to hire Liberty LB coach Robert Bala as inside linebackers coach, according to a report from Chris Low.
Bala coached at Southern Utah as defensive coordinator before taking a defensive analyst role at Liberty in 2022. He was promoted to LB coach for the Flames this past season.
Bala has been coaching college football at various levels of the sport since 2009, starting at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. He also spent one year with the Oakland Raiders in 2014.

Bala would be taking over for former ILB coach Austin Armstrong, who spent a grand total of 8 days with the Crimson Tide before accepting the co-DC position at Florida under Billy Napier.
