Scooby Carter is reuniting with Butch Jones. The former Alabama defensive back announced his transfer commitment to Arkansas State on Wednesday via Twitter.
Carter was considered a big get for Alabama in the class of 2019. With 23 scholarship offers coming out of Mansfield Legacy in Texas, he was rated the No. 9 cornerback and No. 91 recruit overall in the class on the 247Sports Composite.
Carter entered the portal during the 2019 season after reportedly being suspended. He withdrew his name from the portal in January 2020 but re-entered on Mar. 1, 2020. Carter landed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the 2020 season.
Jones is entering his first season as the Arkansas State head coach after spending three seasons at Alabama on Nick Saban’s staff.
