Former Alabama DL lands new NFL opportunity after recent release

Former Alabama defender Damion Square is on the move again. The New Orleans Saints announced the signing of Square on Friday.

Square has been in the NFL since 2013 after going undrafted following his Alabama career.

Square started his career with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013. After being released in August 2014, Square found a new opportunity with the Kansas City Chiefs. Square was waived by the Chiefs during the 2014 season and landed with the Chargers. Square spent the bulk of his career with the Chargers franchise through 2020.

On May 4, Square with the Cleveland Browns. Cleveland terminated Square’s contract on Aug. 19.

In his career, Square has played in 91 games (81 with the Chargers), recording 113 tackles, 6.5 sacks and 9 passes defended.
