Alabama dynasty discussions are regular fodder on “The Paul Finebaum Show” and so the ESPN commentator went straight to the fans in Tuscaloosa to check the pulse of Nick Saban’s program.
Finebaum made it to a famous Alabama restaurant, Rama Jama’s, to find out.
“Why is it so difficult for Alabama fans to admit the time has left you guys by?,” Finebaum said to a fan.
She responded, “I still think we are the dynasty,” and later explained that a dynasty is something that reigns at the top for a continuous amount of time. Even when Finebaum points out that Georgia has won 2 in a row, she countered, “They don’t have Nick Saban.”
Another fan added, “The talent is clearly there. The coaching is clearly there. I think the culture’s coming along.
Finebaum again pointed out that since 2008, Alabama has been ranked No. 1 at some point in the season every year except this season.
Finebaum even got one fan to admit that his argument was lame after the fan said Alabama is still great, still has Saban, but is not as good Alabama used to be, and is not as good as Georgia.
Then at the end, a Tennessee slipped in, and made a prediction for Saturday’s game.
“Joe Milton 5 touchdowns,” he said.
