Alabama eliminated from Tallahassee Regional after lifeless performance vs. Stetson

Alabama’s trip to the NCAA Baseball Tournament is complete, going 2-and-done at the Tallahassee Regional this weekend.
Alabama was able to get the bats going in Friday’s regional opener against UCF, but the pitching struggled to find consistency in an 8-7 defeat. That was not the case on Saturday with the Crimson Tide offense producing a lifeless effort against Stetson in a 4-0 defeat.
Alabama went just 5-for-31 with 4 walks and 7 strikeouts while facing elimination. The 1-4 spots in the order were particularly disappointing with that group finishing the day 2-for-14 to bow out of the Tallahassee Regional.
The best chance for the Tide came in the top of the 4th when they got the first 2 batters on and a sacrifice bunt moved them to 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. However, a wild pitch led Kade Snell to try and score from 3rd where he was gunned down at home.
On the mound, Stetson used Aric McAtee to start the game, and he covered 4.1 innings pitched efficiently. Anthony DeFabbia came on to finish the 5th inning, and he was fantastic in finishing the game for the Hatters. He allowed just 1 hit and struck out 4 over 4.2 innings to complete the shutout for Stetson.
Alabama starter Ben Hess largely did his job and was able to cover 6.2 innings pitched while allowed 4 runs (3 earned), but the offense could not do enough to keep the Crimson Tide alive.
