The Alabama Crimson Tide delivered a big flip in the 2027 class, as 3-star tight end Michael Nnabuife has changed his commitment from Syracuse to the Tide.
The St. Frances Academy (Baltimore, Md.) prospect is a 3-star prospect according to 247 Sports Composite, ranking as the 57th-best tight end in the 2027 class. Nnabuife had committed to Syracuse on May 20, only to flip to Alabama during this weekendโs official visit.
Nnabuife played his sophomore season at Calvert Hill in 2024 before transferring to St. Frances Academy for his junior season in 2025. Nnabuife can wall off run lanes with his power and aggression as he chops his feet and establishes positioning.
The 6-foot-5 Nnabuife becomes the eighth public commitment for Alabama in the 2027 cycle, including fellow 3-star tight end prospect Oakley Keegan.
Alabama finished 11-4 overall and 7-1 in SEC play in 2025, a record that included a College Football Playoff berth. The Crimson Tide downed Oklahoma 34-24 in the CFP first round but fell 38-3 to eventual CFP champion Indiana in the Rose Bowl.
The Crimson Tide begins the 2026 season at home against East Carolina on Sept. 5 (Noon ET, ABC) before beginning SEC play Sept. 12 at Kentucky (3:30 pm, ABC).
