The Alabama Crimson Tide are in Tallahassee on Saturday afternoon to take on a Florida State squad that is trying to bounce back from a truly awful 2024 season.
However, since college football doesn’t have a preseason, it sometimes takes a few reps for things to start running smoothly. Both the Tide and the Seminoles were having some trouble on Saturday prior to kickoff.
No, this trouble didn’t involve any of the players on the field. Instead, both sides failed miserably at figuring out which side of their flags should be at up.
As you can see below, Alabama’s cheer squad ran out with an upside-down “A” logo flag:
Meanwhile, Florida State’s 2023 ACC Champions flag was upside down above Doak Campbell Stadium:
See? It’s Week 1 for everyone, not just the players.
We’ll see if the action on the field is a little bit crisper on Saturday afternoon. Alabama enters this matchup as the No. 8 team in the country, while the Seminoles are unranked. This is Year 2 of the Kalen DeBoer era, and the pressure is on to get Alabama back to the College Football Playoff.
If Alabama does win an SEC title or make the Playoff this year, perhaps the stadium crew at Bryant-Denny will manage to fly the flag correctly, unlike their brethren in Tallahassee.
