Alabama football: 4 players suspended for first half of Duke game

Four Alabama football players are suspended for the first half of the Duke game, per multiple reports.
Running backs Najee Harris and Brian Robinson, along with receiver DeVonta Smith and linebacker Terrell Lewis, missed a team function during fall camp and will reportedly suffer a first half suspension.
Harris and Robinson are the team’s top two running backs. With those two being absent in the first half, redshirt freshman Jerome Ford, true freshman Keilan Robinson and redshirt sophomore Chadarius Townsend will take center stage in the first half. Remember, the Tide already lost 5-star freshman Trey Sanders to a season-ending injury, too. Depth could be an issue in the first half, at least.
Thankfully for Alabama, the receiver position is loaded, and Smith won’t be missed too much. Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs and Jalen Waddle will be fine without Smith at the position.
Lewis, on the other hand, will be a big one to start the game. Lewis is arguably the team’s top pass rusher, and he missed all of 2018 due to an ACL injury.
Alabama and Duke kickoff Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET from Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
