Ale Kaho was a big boost to Alabama’s 2018 recruiting class, and he’ll also make an impact on the Crimson Tide’s defense this season as he will reportedly be immediately eligible to play.

With the addition of Kaho, Alabama moved into the top five of the 2018 class rankings, passing Penn State and Clemson. The Crimson Tide rank behind only Georgia, Ohio State, Texas and USC.

Kaho, who is a 4-star recruit per the 247sports Composite rankings, was the 13th 4-star recruit in the class for Alabama, which also landed a pair of 5-star recruits.

It was a strong recruiting cycle for the reigning national champions, and the addition of Kaho made it even better for the Crimson Tide. Kaho was previously committed to Washington but was officially granted his release from the school on Monday for “personal reasons.”

The Crimson Tide have 22 total commits in the 2018 class.
