Alabama took care of business at home against Ole Miss on Saturday afternoon, jumping out to a 35-0 lead before hanging on for a 42-21 victory.

But, after losing the No. 1 spot in the ESPN Football Power Index (FPI) rankings last week, the Crimson Tide failed to jump back into the top spot this week.

Instead, the Georgia Bulldogs remain in the No. 1 slot, with the Crimson Tide checking in at No. 2 in the updated rankings.

Georgia has an FPI score of 28.2, ahead of Alabama’s 27.0. Ohio State checks in at No. 3, but the Buckeyes are way behind, with an FPI score of 20.9.

Alabama takes on Texas A&M in College Station next weekend. Meanwhile, Georgia travels to take on Auburn in what should be an exciting day of action for those top teams.
