Alabama LB Anfernee Jennings is out for the College Football Playoff final against Georgia.
Jennings injured his knee during the fourth quarter of the Sugar Bowl, and he didn’t return. Following the game, Nick Saban said the LB had a knee sprain and that his status was unknown for the championship game.
Jennings announced the news via his Twitter account Wednesday morning, “Unfortunately, I’ve played by last game this season, but I will be back stronger than ever next season because I know that God makes no mistakes.”
The redshirt sophomore LB probably played the best game of his career against Clemson, making five tackles, including three tackles for loss. Jennings also helped forced an INT from Tigers QB Kelly Bryant.
