The 4th-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide enjoyed an idle Week 10, but not without seeing a key contributor to the Tide defense being arrested.
Sophomore defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. was arrested and booked into Tuscaloosa County Jail on Saturday on 3 charges of reckless endangerment, 1 count of attempting to elude and speeding, according to jail records. Kirkpatrick as released on $1,500 bond within an hour of his booking, per AL.com.
A 5-foot-11, 202-pound safety, Kirkpatrick was a 3-star defensive back prospect who signed with Kalen DeBoer as a member of the Tide’s 2024 recruiting class. The son of former Alabama and Cincinnati Bengals safety Dre Kirkpatrick signed in August 2023.

Kirkpatrick was listed as the backup to starter Keon Sabb at strong safety on Alabama’s most recent depth chart, and was still listed on Alabama’s online roster Sunday morning.
“We are aware of an incident involving Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. and are working to gather more information,” said Alabama in a statement released in the wake of Kirkpatrick’s arrest.
