Alabama long snapper Thomas Fletcher has hilarious reaction to being drafted by Carolina Panthers
Alabama long snapper Thomas Fletcher didn’t expect to be drafted today, apparently.
So when Carolina coach Matt Rhule called him near the end of the sixth round, he completely miss-understood the reason for the call.
“Are you [expletive] kidding me?” Fletcher said. “No [expletive]! You did not. Are you serious?”
Here’s a video that includes audio from Fletcher when he finds out that he’s been drafted by the Panthers:

Fletcher was widely regarded as the best snapper this class. He played for four seasons at Alabama, starting every game. ESPN’s Todd McShay had a scouting report ready for him when he got picked.
“I like this guy,” McShay said on ESPN on Saturday. “He’s a little undersized … gets the ball out quickly. Never had a major botch.
“I think he’s going to be the best long snapper in the league.”
Fletcher ended up being one of 10 Alabama players to get picked in this draft.
