Alabama has lost a commitment from a three-star safety a day before National Signing Day.

Joshua Perry out of Amite, La., announced the decision on Twitter eight months after committing to the program back in May.

Perry’s decision comes not long after taking his official visit to Alabama in mid-January. The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder also has offers from LSU and Ole Miss.

Outside of four-star cornerback Nigel Knott, Alabama’s class doesn’t have any commits listed as a corner or safety. However, three-star prospect Shawn Jennings is listed as an athlete but played both safety and quarterback in high school.

Perry is rated as the No. 45 safety in the Class of 2016, according to 247Sports.
